RO Membrane Replacement: Parts, Timing and Cost
Purest Solutions
Identify the membrane, not just the system category

Reverse-osmosis systems can contain several replaceable components with different jobs and schedules. The membrane is not the same item as a sediment cartridge, carbon stage or complete replacement pack. Start with the model and installed part numbers.
What determines replacement timing?
Use the manufacturer's interval, capacity and performance-check requirements for that component. A general claim that every membrane lasts two or three years is not a warranty or a suitable schedule for every installation. Record the other stages separately so maintenance is not missed between membrane changes.
For a change in output or taste, have the system assessed rather than automatically concluding the membrane has failed. A dissolved-solids reading alone does not establish removal of every contaminant or microbiological safety.
Check what a replacement set includes
Before ordering the Purest RO replacement set, confirm the exact cartridge numbers and whether the membrane is included. The word set does not answer that question. Ask whether seals, installation labour, flushing and performance checks are included or separate.
Compare the actual cost
Use the current compatible-part price and a service quote, rather than an assumed membrane cost. Compare like-for-like parts and the work needed to fit them. Do not substitute an unverified cartridge simply because it has a similar connector or lower price.
Keep the installed system's instructions, purchase information and maintenance record together. Contact Purest with the model and labels for a parts and servicing check. The initial RO system purchase and later maintenance are separate items.
