Benchtop options

A benchtop plumbed cooler provides a counter-level dispense point with a mains connection. A refillable benchtop cooler avoids a fixed mains connection but needs room for manual refilling.

Neither should be assumed to fit every counter. Check the unit's footprint, required clearances, power and the practicality of cleaning or replenishing it. A plumbed benchtop unit may still need a connection route through or behind cabinetry.

Under-sink options

An under-sink chiller with filtered tap places the working unit in the cabinet. It keeps the chiller off the counter, but needs usable space around plumbing, bins and shelves, plus access for later servicing.

Confirm ventilation, power and the tap arrangement. The equipment must be installed to its specified clearances, not fitted tightly into whatever space remains.

Compare function and ongoing care

Check the actual chilled-water capacity and recovery information for expected busy periods. Decide whether people need a separate drinking point or can conveniently use the sink. Confirm the specific filtration performance claim rather than assuming one cabinet format filters better than another.
